Mechanical Engineer
Description
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving all mechanical systems within the facility to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation. This includes HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, water supply, and other building services. The role involves technical supervision, preventive and corrective maintenance planning, energy optimization, and support in upgrading systems to meet operational and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise operation and maintenance of all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.
- Prepare and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Review and optimize energy performance of HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and vendors for maintenance works and system upgrades.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and performance analysis.
- Support the facility management team in preparing budgets and maintenance cost estimates.
- Participate in asset condition assessments and recommend improvement actions.
- Review design drawings, as-built documents, and O&M manuals to ensure compliance with standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in mechanical systems operation and maintenance within a facility management or building services environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and ducting systems.
- Experience with plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
- Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and energy management principles.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
