Electrical Engineer
Description
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising and maintaining all electrical systems and installations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role involves managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, monitoring energy performance, troubleshooting electrical faults, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with the facility management team to support daily operations and long-term asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and maintain electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and low current networks.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
- Monitor and optimize energy consumption across the facility.
- Manage testing, calibration, and performance verification of electrical equipment.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of standby generators, UPS systems, and control panels.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Prepare maintenance reports, asset registers, and energy performance records.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical documentation.
- Support project works, system upgrades, and integration of smart or automated systems.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in electrical operation and maintenance within facility management, building services, or similar environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems (LV/MV), panels, and switchgear.
- Experience with lighting systems, emergency power, UPS, and standby generators.
- Familiarity with low-current systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV, data networks).
- Understanding of energy management and load analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and O&M manuals.
